Avery Dennison Launches Dual-Tech Inlay with Impinj MR6-P and EAS

Impinj partner Avery Dennison released an inlay combining the Impinj MR6-P chip with an Electronic Article Surveillance tag in one new retail-optimized die-cut label

Impinj partner Avery Dennison recently combined the capabilities of RAIN RFID and Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) into one new, retail-optimized inlay.

The dual-technology AD-362r6-P inlay combines the item-level tracking and digital ID capabilities of a high-performance Impinj Monza R6-P tag chip with the secondary loss prevention functionality of an EAS tag, suitable for a wide range of retail apparel products and applications.

The Impinj Monza R6-P tag chip provides interchangeable 96/128 bit EPC and 64/32 bit User Memory. TID memory is 96 bits with a 48-bit unique serial number. The primary, RAIN RFID related feature of the new AD-362r6-P inlays enables retailers to benefit from improved inventory accuracy, enhanced brand security, and the ability to create a more satisfying shopping experience focused on maximizing convenience and utility. And the EAS tag works with legacy EAS-based anti-theft systems. When the dual-technology inlay is scanned by a RAIN RFID reader during the checkout procedure, the EAS functionality can be deactivated automatically, abolishing the need for a manual detachment of the EAS tag.

AD-362r6-P inlays are approved by the RFID Lab at Auburn University and meet ARC performance and quality requirements.

Implementing RAIN RFID in retail can increase ROI and improve omnichannel operations through real-time inventory visibility, helping retailers identify, locate and sell products from all retail locations through multiple channels.

The Impinj MR6 chip series helps to create a differentiated shopping experience. Start tagging items for inventory management and then enable smart fitting rooms, automated checkout, and interactive product displays. With added user memory, password protection, and range reduction capabilities, Impinj MR6-P tag chips enable loss prevention, brand protection, and enhanced privacy for retailers, brands, and consumers.
